Set to retire after thirty years of helping to develop new businesses, Bill DeCicco takes it easy outside of The Drywall Barn in Struthers, on June 30, 2009. The business is one of about twenty to be developed on the land of former steel mills with the aid of DeCicco's employer CASTLO Community Improvement Corp.

Sitting at his Girard home on September 23, 2009, Herbert Seelbach has been inducted into the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame, for his service as a musical entertainer in the United States Navy. Seelbach enlisted in the Navy on Dec. 31, 1943 and was selected for various Navy musical organizations, including one USO show that showcased comedian Bob Hope and movie star Frances Langford on the Admiralty Islands in the South Pacific.
